About

This is the official web site for Guy Mercier.

Guy is a multi-talented artist living in the national capital region of Ottawa/Gatineau, Canada. He is a registered graphic designer, web developer, illustrator, Flash developer, published artist, photographer, 3D animator,
He has formerly the Art Director for Ottawa Therapy Dogs. He proudly donated his services for all of their print, web, and exhibit communication products for several years.

Guy’s professional work is/was distributed: locally; regionally; provincially; nationally; and international markets. His last employed position at Stentor was creating the print collateral for the members of the alliance of ALL the major TELECOMMUNICATION companies across Canada.

He was there when the technological revolution gave birth. He has been using the major software programs required to prepare the camera ready artwork to printing houses or other suppliers. Version  1 of all the major programs.

Guy has had two professional epiphanies. The first was when he could prepare any print collateral. The second was being able to decode the code and code for the web. He has attained all of his professional goals. He does have several artistic talents that are normally their own specific job or function when employed by a graphics house.

Guy can and does create visual solutions for print, exhibits, and the web very well and loves doing it.
He loves being creative and loves his dog, car, and social media.

I love reading your comments or seeing others liking and sharing what I publish on the web...

Interesting Facts
about a few of Guy’s associates.

It’s in you to give! Is the official tagline for the Canadian Blood Services. It was a former colleague from my Telecom Canada days by the name of Diane Descoste Johnson that came up with that tagline.

We also worked in the Stentor Communications department.

Rosemary Walsh is now with United Way. Kathy is now the VP of Communications for a company bigger than Microsoft.  Katherine did make it to Ottawa city council. Robin did take Kathy’s, Brenda’s, and my profile photo.
My colleagues go back a long way and are still in contact decades later.

The word THANKS doesn't even touch on the depth of my appreciation for the work Guy Mercier did on the Bloody Words Mystery Writers Conference.

In addition to the brilliant creative on the website, and on the collateral (posters, bookmarks, t-shirts, program book, etc.) Guy provided us with ideas on how to market and promote the conference. He came up with the slogan - Mystery is afoot in Ottawa, and incorporated bloody footsteps into the design.

Attendees to the conference remarked on how professional the event was.  It was Guy who did that -- he gave us that look and feel. And it was also that professional look and feel that attracted the interest of the media.  I delivered the 50 page program book to the CBC and a producer called the next day. They had scoured the book, came down to the event and interviewed writers, and we ended up on the news every hour that weekend.

My genuine thanks for everything Guy -- without you the sales would not have been what they were, and we would not have hosted such a successful event.
